The biggest crowd ever for YQM Country Fest, according to Promoter Sam Bourgeois.
Over 20,000 fans attended the three-day event. Saturday night was the largest ever in the three years of the festival.
Looking ahead to next year, Bourgeois says most of the headliners are already secured, but the MusiquART venue in Dieppe is still up in the air.
“We’re in negotiations with the City of Dieppe as well as other cities and provinces for what’s to come for YQM. Our hope is to be back in Dieppe, but we are still in negotiations. We’ve got some other options, but that’s all we are going to say right now, but our hope is to be back in Dieppe for 2025,” he says.
Bourgeois adds there were no concerns regarding the MusiquART site, but their current contract is up.
“It’s like anything else. There are two sides at the table, and we have to find some sort of middle ground,” he says.
An economic impact study conducted by the City of Dieppe in 2023 found the festival would generate over $14 million for the Greater Moncton region.
An announcement of the artists for YQM Country Fest 2025 is expected sometime in the fall.
One of the new additions for the 2024 YQM Country Fest was bracelets for those who had purchased weekend passes.
Bourgeois says that worked out really well, and the flow coming into the daily concerts was a lot better with the new additions. Fans can expect that to continue for other festivals going forward.
