A long-awaited development in uptown Saint John will have more units than originally planned.
The news comes as the city confirms construction at 99 King Street is getting set to move ahead.
In a social media post, Mayor Donna Reardon said the mixed-use building will have 146 units.
That is compared to 93 units first pitched by developer Percy Wilbur in the original design for the 12-storey building.
Wilbur previously told our newsroom that rising costs attributed to COVID and a labour shortage forced them to go back to the drawing board.
The two floors of office space have been replaced with more residential units and a third level of underground parking is being added.

City officials said Thursday that Wilbur has received the necessary permits and will start construction soon.
“In the coming weeks, the developer will remove the existing foundation walls and prepare the site for construction,” Chris McKiel, the city’s community and development standards director, told council on Monday.
Graphics of historic buildings will also be added to the plywood fencing around the site to “enhance the visual appeal” during construction, he said.
Seven parking spaces will be temporarily occupied on King Street during the construction phase.
