Saint John’s new director of transit and fleet services will be familiar to many.
Ian MacKinnon began his new role earlier in January after previously serving as the CEO of the Saint John Transit and Parking Commissions.
He replaced Ian Fogan, who is the city’s new commissioner of utilities and infrastructure.
CAO Brent McGovern said MacKinnon’s extensive experience and strong dedication to the public service will serve the City and its residents well.
“We have an extraordinary team of dedicated professionals serving the City and we are pleased to welcome Mr. MacKinnon to the team,” said McGovern.
MacKinnon served with the Saint John Transit and Parking Commissions from 2016 to 2019.
“With transformational changes taking place to the transit system in Saint John, aimed at better serving current riders and attracting new ones, I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to help lead these improved services for the community,” said MacKinnon.
A news release from the city said MacKinnon “brings years of experience in executive leadership roles in both the public and private sectors.”
He previous held the positions of vice president of operations at Toronto-based Carbon60, director of information technology for the Canadian Automobile Association Limited, and director of information technology for the City of Saint John.
