As we clean up from one storm, forecasters are already tracking another one for later in the week.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Wednesday night and Thursday.
Meteorologist Jill Maepea said this storm will be more wet than white for southern New Brunswick.
“You will see some accumulating snow when it first starts out — we’re not looking at significant amounts — and then it’ll switch over to rain,” Maepea said in an interview.
Maepea said rainfall will be the main threat for us with this system. The national weather agency said as much as 50 millimetres of rain could fall.
Central and northern regions of the province will see mainly snow from this system. Maepea said some areas could pick up more than 20 centimetres.
“We will get into some mixed precipitation into central and northern areas, and even perhaps in the northeast along some of the coastal areas,” she said.
Maepea said this storm will also bring gusty winds with it. With the current track, she said, those strongest wind gusts will likely be along the Fundy coast.
She encouraged New Brunswickers to keep an eye on the forecast as the system approaches the region.
