A fire in the north end of Saint John has displaced five people.
Saint John fire crews responded shortly after 11 p.m. on Wednesday night to a three-unit building on Osbourne Avenue.
Saint John Fire Platoon Chief Patrick Thebeau said Ladder 5 from the Adelaide Street fire station was first on the scene.
“When they arrived, there was significant fire and smoke showing so the first crews did an interior attack with the second crew doing a search,” Thebeau said.
Help is being provided to the people who are displaced by the fire.
“We have Red Cross come in and Red Cross is looking after them,” Thebeau said.
No one was hurt and there is no word yet on the cause.
Thebeau said there 20 firefighters were on scene, two command staff and a support unit at the scene.
