A frightening start to the workday last week when an agitated man began kicking a garbage can while holding a large knife near a restaurant on King Street.
Staff called the police who responded just before 6 a.m. on Thursday morning to a report of an armed person.
When officers arrived, they asked the man to drop the knife, and he complied at which point they noticed he was holding two large knives, one in each hand.
A 51-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
He was later released from custody with a court date in January.
No one was injured in the incident.
