Several New Brunswick farms have been part of a dining experience since 2020.
Farm to Table NB is a dining experience directly onto a local farm, such as apple orchards and lavender fields.
Owner, Chanelle Belliveau mentioned the first dining experience was in the middle of the pandemic at an orchard in Cocagne, New Brunswick.
Since then Farm to Table NB has hosted at around 10 different farm locations throughout the province.
“Featuring a different seasonal menu every time, featuring local food, ingredients, and produce from the farm host.”
Belliveau brought up that the entire experience takes roughly three to four hours ending with the dinner portion later in the evening.
“So when people come in we typically have a local table featuring a charcuterie with local meats, cheese, jams, and all that stuff, with a local craft cocktail.”
“After that people get to go on a private farm tour with the owners of the farm … so it’s a great way to bring people there, connect them with the farmers, learn more about the history, what they offer, and in return get more education and awareness of the farm to table concept,” continued Belliveau.
Those who are interested, and want to sign up for a dining experience can check out the Farm to Table NB Facebook, or Instagram page.
“Our website is currently in the works, but we’re hoping for a launch in mid to late September, but I have been redirecting people to our Facebook page because it shows all of the details for upcoming dining experiences,” said Belliveau.
Belliveau added the next dining experience will be hosted on a farm outside of Sussex in late September.
