The Compassionate Grief Centre in Saint John has launched a Grief Café.
It is a dedicated place to help people on their journey of grief and loss.
“It’s an informal safe space for people in the community to come together, share about what it’s like to go through the grief and loss experience, something that’s so universal for all of us because we all go through it at some point,” said Katarina Presti, professional licensed counsellor for the Compassionate Grief Centre.
“We’re offering a space to come in, come and go as you please, enjoy some refreshments, and connect with people in our community.”
The new program is free and funded through the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.
“It was federal funding granted to us, but just because it’s from the New Horizons for Seniors Program, all ages are still welcome to come to the Grief Café,” said Presti.
The Café is open every Wednesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
The Compassionate Grief Centre is located at 55 Drury Cove Road.
