You can trade in the skis and snowboards for a mountain bike at Poley Mountain.
An expansion is underway as the resort prepares for its third season of mountain biking.
Officials are adding an additional three kilometres of green trail for riders of all skill levels.
Several existing runs at the resort near Sussex are also being expanded and improved.
“These, combined with an overall expanded Beginner terrain and skills park, should prove popular with the growing family segment in the mountain biking community in Atlantic Canada,” Poley said in a news release.
Jamie Hare, general manager of Poley Mountain Resorts, said the availability of quality trails throughout the Maritimes has been really growing in recent years, adding it is an exciting time for mountain biking locally.
“Our focus is to deliver a full riding experience, from a skills park with on-site training, to high-quality trails for all skill levels,” Hare said in a news release.
Two of the region’s leading trail builders — Charles Stevens (Kodiak Trail Works) of Truro, N.S., and Ernie Campbell (Dig In Trail Building and Design) of Saint John — are helping with the expansion and improvements.
Poley hopes to open the hill for another season of mountain biking by mid-June.
