Fredericton Police continue to monitor a protest in the province’s capital after the first two days of the demonstration brought hundreds to the doorstep of the legislature.
In a news release issued on Sunday, spokesperson Alycia Bartlett said officers remain on-site to ensure the safety and security of everyone.
The statement confirmed Saturday night proved to be uneventful except for one arrest for Breach of the peace, and a by-law ticket issued for fireworks.
“Overnight, there were some large trucks that were not permitted to enter the city without a valid manifest. We continue to take steps to limit the impact on our roads, residents and businesses,” reads the statement.
It adds police stopped drone operators from flying in and around the protest. Transport Canada has since temporarily barred the public from using drones in the area.
Vehicle traffic continues to be turned away on Queen Street, between the Cenotaph and St. John Street.
