Colleen d’Entremont will step down and retire in April 2022 as president of the Atlantica Centre for Energy.
The Atlantica Centre links organizations operating in the energy sector and the community to help realize opportunities associated with energy resources in Atlantic Canada and the American Northeast.
It also provides a conduit between government, the education and research sectors, industry, and the community to foster partnerships and engage in energy-related issues.
d’Entremont, who has been with the centre for nine years, mentioned it has been a “great run.”
“During that time, the Atlantica Centre for Energy has been able to address so many energy challenges and opportunities for the Maritime provinces,” said d’Entremont.
As well, the organization has tried to help the public make informed decisions on energy choices and the challenges ahead.
“So, if there’s one message I will leave to the public, dig a little bit deeper into the energy issues so you understand them, which helps to lessen the complexity of what’s facing us all going forward,” she said.
d’Entremont added in retirement, she is looking forward to hiking and exploring, as well continue her association with the University of New Brunswick’s Energy Fundamentals program to further the understanding of strategic energy issues.
The centre will welcome incoming president Michelle Robichaud.
“Robichaud comes to Atlantica with more than 20 years of progressive business management and public relations experience in both official languages,” reads a release.
“Robichaud has led community engagement initiatives and developed strategies for key economic development, securities-related communications, and financial and consumer public relations initiatives at local, regional, and provincial levels,” added the release.
