Residents looking to take a dip at Tucker Park Beach in Saint John may have noticed no-swimming advisory signs recently.
Public Health says the advisory was prompted by bacteria levels found in recent test samples.
Spokesperson Bruce Macfarlane was not immediately able to say Thursday what the bacteria in question was.
Macfarlane said samples were taken from the beach again on Wednesday but there was no immediate update on the results.
The beach is one of four in Saint John that are sampled as part of Public Health’s recreational water program.
Lisa Caisse, a spokesperson for the City of Saint John, directed questions about the advisory to the province.
Please be aware of the new swimming advisory posted at Tucker Park. We will be following up for more information but please follow the advisement. In the meantime, we suggest checking out the trails!
