Police in Bathurst now believe a 14-year-old girl missing for the past three months is a homicide victim.
Madison Roy-Boudreau was last seen alive around 7:30 a.m. on May 11 as she walked to a bus stop near her home.
Police Chief Stephane Roy said the teen was seen getting into a grey Ford ranger, which investigators have seized.
“As this is an active homicide investigation, we cannot name the primary suspect. This is a major incident that is shaking the core of this community,” Roy said in a video posted to Facebook on Wednesday.
Roy also said exhaustive resources are being deployed to locate Roy-Boudreau and made note of various searches, including one at a quarry in Bathurst and others in the Middle River area.
“The RCMP tactical support group, ground search team are involved with searches of numerous identified sites in the Middle River area. These searches have led to obtaining additional evidence which are currently being processed,” Roy said.
