Saint John fire crews have cleared a Hazmat call on Bayside Drive involving a chemical spill. No one was hurt.
The initial call came in at 10 a.m. on Wednesday about a leak that occurred at Al’s Trucking.
Fire officials say it involved a 1,000-litre acetic acid spill inside the business, located between Expansion Avenue and Mcilveen Drive.
They say Therapure will complete the clean-up process and remove the neutralized product.
Bayside Drive was closed to traffic for several hours.
UPDATE: The incident along Bayside Drive is stable and expected to be cleared up early this afternoon. The City will notify the public when crews are cleared from the area and the road reopens to through traffic.
