One of the top men’s keepers in the province is joining the UNB REDS men’s soccer team.
Ethan Adams of Quispamsis has signed a letter of intent and will join the team ahead of the 2021-22 season.
The Grade 12 student at St. Malachy’s Memorial High School is a veteran member of the Saints varsity boys’ team.
He is also a veteran member of the Fundy Soccer Association’s club program, playing on their U17, U16, U15 and U13 teams, and participating in the club’s College Performance program.
“UNB has a great reputation in both academics as well as their soccer program,” said Adams. “I was fortunate to be able to train with them a bit last fall, and I feel the players and coaches are hungry for a championship.”
“My short-term goal is to continue to work hard. “My long-term goal is helping the REDS win a U SPORTS championship.”
Head coach Barry Morrison said they are pleased to be adding Adams to the team.
“Ethan has been a standout keeper within the province for several years, and will continue to develop over his time here at UNB,” said Morrison. “I’ve been impressed with Ethan’s shot-stopping and confidence in the net. I think he has great physical size for the position.”
Adams will study business administration while attending the University of New Brunswick.
