The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has paused all activity across the league until Jan. 3.
It comes as New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Quebec continue to see rising COVID-19 case numbers.
“The current situation with the pandemic in the regions in which we operate makes it extremely difficult to play games,” said Commissioner Gilles Courteau in a statement.
Courteau added the Maritime provinces have restricted access and travel, while red zone restrictions in Quebec do not permit them to play.
Details on the return-to-play plan will be released in the coming weeks.
BREAKING ⚠️ | All #QMJHL activities will be paused between the 1st of December and the 3rd of January.
