Tony Hayes has been named the new Deputy Chief for the Saint John Police Force after a national search with several internal and external candidates.
“Deputy Chief Hayes will provide strong leadership and analytical thinking as the role of policing continues to evolve in the years ahead”, says SJPF Chief Stephan Drolet.
Hayes joined the Saint John Police Force in 1992. he was promoted to Sergeant in 2008 and to Inspector in 2018.
Deputy Chief Hayes served in several divisions during his career including patrol, fraud and criminal investigations.
“Deputy Chief Hayes’ varied experience will serve him and the Force well in his new role,” adds Chief Drolet.
The promotion takes effect immediately.
