In an effort to alleviate anxiety and ensure safety in our educational facilities, the Government of New Brunswick has updated its plans for those who have travelled out of the country during the March break.
Updated letters went out from school districts across the province Friday night.
In the letter from Education Minister Dominic Cardy, it states children, staff, students, volunteers and family members who have travelled to specific areas are being asked to avoid any public school, early learning facilities, or school district offices for 14 days from the date of their return.
Those countries include China, Iran, Japan, Italy, South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore.
This is in line with current Canadian public health expert consensus on coronavirus.
The Acting Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr, Cristin Muecke says there are still no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in New Brunswick.
