Quick action by a Miramichi police officer saved the life of a teen.
Police were dispatched Friday morning, in -22°C weather, after reports of clothing lying in the driveway at a home.
Footprints were spotted and the officer followed them through the knee-high snow.
There they found a 16-year-old who was not wearing shoes or a coat, almost covered by snow.
Police say she was almost non-responsive and her hands were purple.
The teen was rushed to hospital where she was treated for an extreme case of hypothermia.
Thanks to the fact she was found and given the necessary treatment, she is expected to make a full recovery.
