Butterflies, birds and leaves are accumulating in Saint John on the Rocmaura nursing home’s Tree of Life.
The donor wall established back in 2017 has raised more than $15,000 to improve the lives of residents.
Foundation Director Sally Cummings tells us their dietary department raised funds specifically to honour Mary Keleher Drane who worked at Rocmaura for 29 years and passed away in February.
“She loved the colour yellow and she was a social butterfly so the dietary department got together and raised enough funds by hosting a spaghetti dinner for all of the staff to enjoy. They were able to place a yellow butterfly in memory of Mary.” Cummings said.
In an emotional ceremony last week at Rocmaura, others added more leaves, birds and butterflies to the wall in memory of loved ones.
