A St. Stephen teen has a unique hobby, it’s bodybuilding.
15-year-old Keaton McCann started lifting weights two years ago after finding an old weight bench in his Dad’s garage.
He tells he wanted to work toward something to see if he could compete.
“I start getting up a lot earlier at 4 o’clock (in the morning). I got a coach. Randy Madsen who was the overall winner at the 2018 men’s classic physique short.” McCann said.
McCann picked up bronze in two categories at the Atlantic Classic Championships at Casino NB last weekend.
“I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be walking out on stage. I won a bronze in the classes I competed in, men’s physique novice and men’s physique, the short class.” McCann said.
He tells us he was the youngest competitor involved by far.
McCann says his friends and family were not sure about his hobby at first, but adds now they are a lot more supportive of it.
