The 2019 Strong Communities campaign is underway with a goal of raising $350,000.
Saint John Y President Shilo Boucher says it’s the second year since the campaign was re-branded as Strong Communities from the previous name of Strong Kids.
She says they re-branded to represent everyone they serve.
Yesterday we kicked off our 2019 #StrongCommunitiesCampaign with a staff competition. We have a goal to raise $350,000 for our community to ensure everyone has access to Y programs. Join us in building healthy communities throughout greater Saint John. pic.twitter.com/f1Hu4uKVtd

“Everyone at some point in their life needs support and the Y wanted to recognize that. Our focus is broader than a certain demographic and that was important to us.” Boucher said.
The Strong Communities primary fundraiser, the Red Triangle Awards, are coming up in April.
Meeting the 2018 campaign goal of raising $325,000 meant the Y was able to provide help for 2698 people.
