Deputy Mayor for the Town of Riverview Tammy Rampersaud says you’re encouraged to do something nice for another person today.
“We’re asking people to honour Becca’s really basic wish, and that is for us to be good people and do good things for other people. It doesn’t have to be anything grandiose. It can be something small, it can be something free. Just do something nice for another person,” Rampersaud says.
Schofield passed away in February after a courageous battle with brain cancer.
“When she put her ask out there and created her hash tag, it spread like wildfire and it really hasn’t slowed down. People still live their lives through the Becca filter and do good,” Rampersaud says,
Rampersaud says when she created her #beccatoldmeto, it spread like wildfire…and people are still fulfilling Becca’s hopes and dreams.
As part of a fundraiser launched to help buy a new All World Super Play Park to replace the aging facility at Frank L. Bowser Elementary School Dairy Queen ran a ‘Buy a cake for Becca’ campaign – they made a donation of $86,550 today towards the park.
