He’s a hero to many but, he’s not interested in the praise.
Rob Dekany or “Uber Rob” is winning fans in Darlings Island outside of Saint John as he uses his own boat to shuttle residents back and forth to the mainland.

He says it’s getting more challenging as the water level goes up because it brings in more debris from people’s yards.
” I literally saw the kitchen sink floating by me,” Dekany says, “I’m seeing couches, logs, rafters from houses, you name it, it’s out there and it’s just like going through the Everglades”.
“Uber Rob” put up a sign offering his shuttle service and says he will stick around until the crisis is over.
