It’s going to be buzzing with activity on Saint John’s Long Wharf this weekend as what they call the ‘container drop’ takes place for the Area 506 container village.
Founder and area 506 committee chair Ray Gracewood tells CHSJ News on Saturday shipping containers are being delivered to Long Wharf and they’re be spread around to create the framework for the village — which will be significantly bigger as compared to last year.
“It’s absolutely an amazing feat of engineering that has been put together from our logistics team and in partnership with, I’d say, 12 to 15 amazing sponsors that are helping us put all this together,” says Gracewood.
“That’s everything from people that own the shipping containers to the people that need to truck and move them over to the site, to all the boom truck operators that are going to move it around.”
Area 506 is coming up fast with events from Friday August 4 to Monday August 7. Tegan and Sara, Matt Mays and STARS are among the musicians who will be playing the festival, which is now in its second year.
