A new Executive Director for the Greater Moncton SPCA has been named.
Dave Rogers who has worked part time as an Animal Control Officer at the SPCA will officially take over the role on April 1st. That is Karen’s Nelson’s last day, before she enters her second retirement after nearly five years with the animal shelter.
Rogers says it’s a great feeling to see these animals go to a good home, “You see them go out the door smiling. You see dogs prancing as they go out the door, and that’s what I look forward to.”
Rogers and his wife have four dogs at home, but he says he can’t take in any more. Now he’ll have a shelter full of animals to love as well.
Like Nelson, Rogers retired previously from his job at Transport Canada and Nav Canada after 30 years. He went back to work part time after he got bored and realized he needed new challenges.
