You may want to keep a close eye while grocery shopping in the USA.
After an outbreak of the avian flu in the United States, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is not allowing you to bring chicken over the border into Canada.
Officials say all raw poultry, poultry products, and poultry by-products that are not fully cooked, sourced, processed, or packaged from the states of Minnesota, California, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington are under restriction until further notice.
This also includes eggs, raw pet food, poultry manure, and feathers.
The CFIA says there is no food safety risk associated with these products, and the measures are to prevent spreading the avian flu into Canada.
