It only took 3 minutes for Lisa Martin of Memramcook to realize her life was changed forever.
Martin is the latest winner of the Atlantic 49 one million dollar prize draw from December 31st.
Martin was skeptical when the clerk told her she won and it wasn’t until she got home and confirmed the numbers on the Atlantic Lottery Corporation’s website that it sank in she was a winner.
She says most of her winnings will be invested so she can retire early, but she has already spent some money to celebrate.
Martin has already taken her mom to a spa day, and has two trips planned to Cuba for February – first with family, and then with friends.
Travel is also high on her list – with a trip across Europe in the works for when she turns 50.
Martin says she is still adjusting to the possibilities granted her by the win but she says it won’t change the way she plays the lottery.
