A Saint John artist is honouring the three Mounties killed during the Moncton shooting rampage in early June.
Norm Jackson has completed a painting he calls “Heroes in our Hearts” depicting the three fallen officers and some of the images caught during Justin Bourque’s reign of terror in the Hub City.
Jackson says he was both touched and inspired by what he watched as the even unfolded and so was Miramichi businessman Randy Urquhart who commissioned Jackson to do the painting.
Prints of the painting along with calendars featuring the painting go on sale today in Kent stores throughout Atlantic Canada – and online at Kent.ca – with a portion of proceeds going to the trust fund for the families of the slain Mounties.
Jackson will present the original painting to the city of Moncton next month.
