Stats Canada is reporting most children and adolescents are falling well short when it comes to recommended daily levels of exercice.

Only 8 per cent are meeting the recommended level of at least one hour of moderate to vigorous exercise and only 4 per cent of adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. Boys are more active than girls.

The recommendation for adults 18 and older is at least 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise a week. 18% of us adults are hitting the target.

Nearly one-third of children and about two-thirds of adults are overweight or obese.
