Dozens of people took part in a rally in Shediac over concerns about water quality and development in wetlands.
The protest was held in front of Shediac Town Hall yesterday and organized by a group called Save Wetlands Waters and Tourism.
Many were chanting and holding signs such as “Save out Shores” and “Stop Destroying Wetlands”.
The group is upset over pollution problems in Shediac Bay which have prompted “no swimming” advisories at Parlee Beach.
There is also concern about the development of a proposed mega-campground in Pointe-du-Chene which could have more than 600 sites.
