The remaining 56 residents evacuated following a butane leak in east Saint John on Monday will begin returning home today.
Saint John EMO says the decision follows a 24-hour period of air quality monitoring along River Avenue and Pleasant City Street.
First responder re-entry teams will accompany residents into their homes and conduct a home safety inspection to test air quality and ensure no damages have been sustained.

Nearly 30 residents living along Spruce Avenue, First Street East and Second Street East returned home yesterday without incident.
Bayside Drive, River Avenue and Pleasant City Street remain closed to the public and the city says it will notify the public once the detours are lifted.
Officials have said it’s too early to tell what caused the butane leak, but preliminary results suggest it was because of a crack related to extreme cold weather.
