“Incredibly disappointing.”
That’s how Premier Brian Gallant describes the opposition under the leadership of provincial Conservative leader Blaine Higgs.
Gallant has taken umbrage at the suggestion he’s out of touch with the day to day financial concerns of New Brunswick families, saying he remembers vividly the tough times his family experienced when he was growing up whe his parents had to move in with his grandparents.
He also calls the Conservatives’ line of questioning about his family and even his family dog as insulting.
The Premier is accusing Opposition leader Blaine Higgs of trying to deliberately gum up the works of government to score political points by calling on all households in the province whose property tax assessments went up to appeal.
The M-L-A for Gagetown-Petitcodiac, Ross Wetmore is urging the owners of RV’s which have been assessed for property tax to appeal before Friday’s deadline.
The larger park model RV’s are being designated as cottage mini homes by the province.
The change has unleashed a lot of anger on social media.
