All schools in the Francophone South District are in hold and secure mode at this time after vague threats received on social media.
Anglophone East schools in the Moncton and Dieppe area are also in hold and secure according to spokesperson Stephanie Patterson.
In an email sent to parents, Francophone south district spokesperson Ghislaine Arsenault says the message on social media did not target a particular school, but it was concerning all the same.
In hold and secure situations, no one is allowed to enter or leave the school premises but regular movement within the facility is allowed.
As a result, parents are being asked to stay away from schools since students cannot be picked up.
