A greater diversity of housing is needed in the South-Central Peninsula if that part of Saint John is to grow with more people.

So argues Mark Reid of Urban Strategies. He says the city plans to hold roundtable discussions with developers and builders to  to flesh out a vision for the future evolution of the city.

Reid says building more townhouses, for example, is an excellent form of affordable housing that's attractive to first time buyers and those people who want to downsize.
