A brief power outage involving 4,800 Saint John Energy customers impacting the uptown core about 1:45 this afternoon.
The lights were back on just after 2 p.m.
We are experiencing an outage Uptown and South Peninsula – 4800 customers due to a loss of supply. ETR still being determined.

Saint John Energy tells us the cause was a transformer issue at the Union Street substation that cut supply coming from two substations on Crown Street and Union Street.
Power should be restored to all customers. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Crews were able to locate the issue and fix it quickly.
