It will cost most New Brunswick drivers more next year and not necessarily because of fluctuating gas prices. Drivers will be paying more for their auto insurance in 2018.
The New Brunswick Insurance Board has given the largest auto insurer in the province, Wawanesa the all clear to raise its rates by almost 7 per cent beginning in January. The board was told the increase is due to the rising cost of claims.
It's believed the average rate increase will be $60 and affect an estimated 90 thousand privately owned vehicles.
